Why We Built This Site
North Carolina provides several forms of public criminal-record access, but no single office holds the full picture. Onslow County detention staff maintain booking and present-custody information, while the Clerk of Superior Court keeps filed charges, case events, and dispositions. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation holds the fingerprint-based statewide repository, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction tracks state custody and supervision, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry publishes eligible registration data. We organize verified contacts, official portals, known fees, and request steps around those separate custodians.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of an Onslow County or North Carolina government agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot provide certified court documents, official criminal histories, or rap sheets
- We cannot submit an expunction petition or public-record request for a visitor
- We cannot conduct an official background check for any person
- We cannot offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or petition
- We cannot promise that an agency's hours, fees, address, or procedure has not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Onslow County Clerk, the Sheriff, or the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Those providers control their services, prices, data practices, and results. We may receive a referral payment when a visitor follows one of those tools and buys a service, which supports free access to this resource. We do not set the provider's charges and cannot verify that its results are complete, current, or matched to the correct person.
